Good fun for creatives and communities in the North East.
What we do
Lasses cabaret
Beginning at Alphabetti Theatre in August 2023, Lasses Kicking Ass celebrates the talents of local women and non-binary folk and brings people together for a community meal called, ‘Girl Dinner’.
Performers at Lasses are encouraged to perform pieces that break binaries and casting stereotypes. Lasses moved to Live Theatre in August 2024.
Girls, Theys and Slays Choir
The Girls, Theys and Slays are a community choir, set up in March 2024 by Maya Torres and Rosie Bowden.
The choir brings together women and non-binary folk for casual sing-alongs and occasional performances at ‘Lasses’. They performed on the main stage at Northern Pride following a commission (Get Ready Grant) to write their own original song.
Networking & community events
Our first networking event, ‘I’m Mint, So Are You!’ was held in August 2024. The event enabled artists to pitch an idea for a project and meet fellow creatives who might fill gaps in their team.
Rosy Cheek are currently in development for a piece with Elswick Community Pool.
Who we are
We believe in creating community through performance, breaking binaries and bringing new folk into theatre, both as audience and artists.
